Introducing Skyline College Growsphere

Hello I’m Growsphere!! My creators were a part of the vital Skyline College clubs: Women in Science & Engineering Represent!, Engineering & Robotics Club, Skyline’s Environmental Club. Now I thank the Interns of Energize Colleges to my cool technological upgrades to make myself autonomous and sustainable!

Project Purpose

Knowledge for Sustainability & Engineering

The Growsphere is intended to be a communal learning space & a place to decompress from the stresses of student life. In this structure, students can learn about the diverse species of native & non-native plants, foundations of the structure, and autonomous features that contribute to sustainability. Sustainability is a key concept to acknowledge and implement as we progress in society to ensure the health of our ecosystems.

Skyline Students

Thank you to all the Skyline students that contributed to the assembly of the Growsphere structure, installation of the  plants & lighting system. A lot that was accomplished would not have been possible without some of the students who volunteered their time.

Skyline's Fabrication Lab

Thank you to Skyline College's Fabrication Lab because with out this innovative space, the vision of the Growsphere would still be a dream ... not a reality.
