What kind of irrigation does the Growsphere utilize?

The Growsphere is equipped with a reservoir, a network of tubes to each tier, all controlled by a micro-controller.

There are humidity sensors to detect the amount of water in the soil and coded watering schedules for each respective tier. 

How autonomous is it really?

The system itself is completely autonomous apart from refilling the reservoir manually.

There are LED indicators on the reservoir that show when the water level is full, halfway, and near emptied.  

How does it work?

The magic of a micro-controller connected to a reservoir, a system spanned tubing network, and the code to control when plans get watered or not. Humidity sensors act as a fail-safe to prevent dry soil and over-watering.

With a tubing network, will all plants get the same amount of water?

The length, area of the tube, how many times the tube splits affect the velocity and pressure of the water. We don't want too much or not enough water, so using Bernoulli's Principle of Fluid Dynamics, this was calculated and applied into the irrigation design.
