Kayla Belich

Climate Corps Fellow

Hello, my name is Kayla Belich! After graduating from California State University, Chico with a B.S. in Sustainable Manufacturing I began a fellowship with Climate Corps and has been serving as the Sustainability Coordinator at Skyline College. I ran the Energize Colleges program and helped plan sustainability events on campus.

After my time at Skyline College, I hope to expand my knowledge of climate issues and continue to work on projects relating to renewable energy and the built environment.

Christal Nevarez

Growsphere Intern

Hello!! My name is Christal Nevarez and I am a Skyline College student pursuing Environmental Engineering. I plan to transfer to UC Davis or UC Berkeley and  obtain my Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering.

This internship was the perfect opportunity for me to exercise engineering concepts & techniques from classroom lectures & research. With this I was able to be environmentally conscious with the design to strive for sustainability. With my colleagues, I contributed to the design of this website, development of the structure, and the irrigation & lighting system.

Francis Manansala

Growsphere Intern

Hello! My name is Francis Manansala and I'm a student pursuing Civil Engineering, transferring to California Polytechnic University, Pomona.

With my passion for growing plants at home, I decided to focus my work towards documenting on how to properly take care of the plants in this type of environment.

Throughout my time working on this project with my team, I made sure that everything we add on to the GrowSphere(watering system, Aqua Scents, etc) are safe for the plants. I also took part in the construction of the sphere, soldering, design calculations, and of course, keeping the plants alive!

Krishan Ram

Growsphere Intern

My name is Krishan Ram, and I am a student pursuing Electrical Engineering. I am transferring from Skyline College to the California Polytechnic University of San Luis Obispo.

I first got involved in working with the Growpshere when I previously worked on an autonomous farming project at LA Hacks 2019. I used what I knew about C, C++, the Arduino IDE, and working with complex circuitry to contribute the best that I could on this project.

Looking back on my time working with the others on this project, I contributed by working on structure maintenance, design calculations, circuitry, soldering, caring for the plants, and the full reference code of the Growsphere.
